  • Open Market: We support millers to fortify chakki atta cost-neutrally for the open market, providing them with equipment, materials, and training.
  • Partnerships: Collaborating with state and quasi-governmental organisations to provide fortified chakki atta to beneficiaries.
  • Research, Monitoring & Evaluation: Monitoring the quality of fortified atta produced by our partners and conducting evaluation studies to assess our programme’s impact and effectiveness.

Senior Data Officer

Team: Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)
Salary: INR 82,585 per month
Location: Remote (preference within India)
Terms of Employment: Contract for one year, renewal by mutual agreement
Language Requirement: English (preferably Hindi as well)
Tentative Start Date: ASAP - June 2024

Position Overview

The Senior Data Officer will be pivotal in ensuring high-quality data is available for decision-making. This role involves designing and maintaining efficient data collection systems, processing and transforming data accurately, and analysing data across the organisation. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to gather requirements and maintain data systems that support data-driven decision-making.


Responsibilities

Data Management:

  • Design and implement efficient data collection systems for accurate and timely data acquisition.
  • Conduct regular data quality reviews to identify and correct discrepancies.
  • Lead data transformation processes to cleanse, aggregate, and structure data for analysis.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data pipeline issues promptly.
  • Optimize current data pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Consolidate monitoring data and prepare periodic reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Innovate and design mechanisms for fortification data collection and representation.

Data Governance:

  • Oversee data security measures, including encryption and access controls, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Manage data platforms and storage solutions, such as SurveyCTO and CRM systems.
  • Translate stakeholder data requirements into technical specifications for pipeline development.
  • Document data pipeline architecture and processes for knowledge sharing.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies in data engineering and pipelines.
  • Support the M&E team to enhance long-term M&E strategy and research aims.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant field or course in data engineering or data management.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation data in the development sector or nutrition projects.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
