Registered under the Indian Societies Registration Act of 1860, Prayatna addresses issues related to education, health, livelihood, youth development, sustainable development, and disaster management. The organization is deeply inspired by the Gandhian approach, focusing on improving the quality of life for the most disadvantaged. Founded by Prabhat Kumar, Prayatna has expanded its reach to several states across India.

Position Summary:

The IT Officer will support the IT department by maintaining the organization’s technology infrastructure. Responsibilities include providing technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and assisting with new technology implementations to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Respond to and resolve IT support requests promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems, software, and networks.
  • Perform regular updates and maintenance of hardware and software.
  • Manage inventory of IT equipment and software licenses.
  • Support network infrastructure management and maintenance.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Train staff on IT systems and software usage.
  • Develop and maintain user guides and technical documentation.
  • Assist in creating IT policies and procedures.
  • Participate in IT projects, including new system implementations.
  • Collaborate with district-level offices to address IT needs, including potential travel for query resolution.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar IT support role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Proficiency in Windows and/or macOS operating systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Familiarity with NGO operations and challenges is a plus.
